Music use often requires permission for both the underlying song and the particular recording. Sage Songs can help identify what your project needs and coordinate the appropriate request.

Composition

The song itself.

The melody and lyrics—the publishing right generally required whenever a composition is recorded, adapted, performed, or synchronized with visual media.

Master recording

The recorded performance.

The specific audio master used in a production. Preferred WAV masters, web listening copies, and version information are maintained for the featured recordings.

Combined request

Composition + master.

When both rights are available for the selected title, Sage Songs can coordinate them together. Exact ownership, contributors, and clearance status are confirmed for every inquiry before terms are finalized.

    Once terms and documentation are agreed, the approved audio and supporting materials can be delivered for the authorized use.

A note on clearance

Every project is reviewed individually. Catalog presentation and copyright registration do not, by themselves, replace final confirmation of composition ownership, master ownership, contributors, scope, or contractual terms.

This careful review protects the creator, the licensee, and the work itself.
